"it's just one plastic fork"

- said 8 billion people

At SOHO, we're proud to be working towards being part of the solution, not part of the pollution. We have been taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint and do our bit to look after our planet.

What action have we taken so far?

too good to go

We have partnered with the fantastic TooGoodToGo to help reduce waste - saving over 50,000 meals to date! The energy saved rescuing these meals could charge 9.9 MILLION smart phones 📱

plastic is not fantastic

We have said no to plastic straws and cutlery in an effort to reduce our plastic wastage, with the aim for all plastic packing to be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025 (and we’re already well on the way)🥤

reusable cup scheme

We're passionate about reducing waste, so when you visit our stores with a reusable cup, you can claim 25p off your drink!

Saying no to waste

All our onsite waste is either recycled, composted or incinerated. Zero waste goes to landfill. This includes plastic and metals - for example we save non-recyclable plastic mushroom trays which are reused by a local vegetable grower.

As well as this, we recycle 100% of cardboard used within the company, raising money for local and international initiatives - in 2022, we raised around £300 for Red Cross Ukraine with our Cardboard for a Cause campaign in an effort to support people in need of basic necessities 🇺🇦

Lights & Energy

All our lights at our Support Hub and back of house in-store are PIR so they only come on when we need them, and they're LED when they do.

Our kitchen is highly insulated so the energy we use only goes on what we need.

Our vans have speed limiters on them, reducing fuel usage.

Stores are also fitted with a 'Last Man Out' switch to ensure all non-essential equipment is turned off at the end of the day.

coffee partners

Our coffee comes from a farm named Fazenda Pinhal in Brazil. They are passionate about our planet and have undertaken several committments to the environment including installing solar panels on their production buildings, managing reforestation projects and meeting and exceeding the Brazilian law for legal reserve land.

Our Bristol based coffee roastery partner - Clifton Coffee Roasters - are B Corp certified which demonstrates their commitment to prioritizing people and planet.
